FAQs
What is a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It represents a beautiful relationship where the farmers know who they are feeding and the customers know the farmer! Customers are more than just consumers–they are members of the CSA who commit to supporting the local farm by buying a share of vegetables at the start of the season. Then, each week throughout the season, the members come to the farm or the droppoint and get their share of the vegetables that were harvested that week! This is the best way to get the freshest, healthiest vegetables, without having to grow them yourself! It is also an amazing way to build up the local community by working with the environment!
How does it work?
We do the planting, weeding, irrigating, and harvesting of vegetables for you. You come and pick up the freshest, tastiest veggies each week from the end of May to the beginning of October and get your share of veggies on the farm or at one of our droppoints. On-Farm Members choose to pick-up on either Thursdays from 3 to 6 PM or Saturdays from 12 to 3 PM. We have Droppoints in Frederick, Hagerstown, Westminster, and Gettysburg and we are looking to add more in 2026!
I already have a garden. Should I still join the CSA?
Some of our happiest CSA members have their own large gardens! Often, CSA members enjoy raising and preserving their own food and they can’t get enough of local food! If you have your own garden, chances are you love veggies and will want to freeze, can, dehydrate, or pickle your excess veggies for the winter. If this sounds like you, I’d encourage you to join the CSA to supplement your own garden.
Do I need to do any work on the farm as a CSA member?
No, you do not! The CSA does not require any work on the farm.
However, if you are interested in volunteering or learning more about farming, we can arrange a work day and see if this would be a good fit for you and our farm!
We also offer the following Farm Products YEAR-ROUND:
