Description
Cold process soap is made with the traditional methods that have been around since ancient times! A purified, liquid fat (such as melted lard or tallow) is mixed with lye water (traditionally made from wood ash and water); mixing the two causes saponification which results in soap. We have used tallow from Good Soil Farms and/or locally sourced lard along with scent and color to make these bespoke bars available at Good Soil Farm!
Lard or tallow soap is a mild cleanser that creates a moisturizing lather and is gentle on sensitive skin. Animal and human cells are very similar so our bodies better absorb these fats! You will find that this soap creates fewer bubbles than you may be used to; other oils tend to bubble more than lather, which is why many mass manufacturers choose other oils for their products. As a regenerative farm we are proud to steward all the parts of our animals well and use the fats which are often wasted by the meat packing industry.
